Beach Day Fun!

What a fun day we had on Friday! The students wore their beach clothes, sunglasses, flip flops and brought towels to school. We moved the tables out of the way and did all our work on our towel!

Here the kids are enjoying their watermelon snack!

Centers all had a beach theme!
The girls are making sand play-dough!

The girls here are putting beach balls in order from smallest to greatest.

The boys enjoyed playing in the sand table!

The boys here colored and read their beach story.

All our work was done on clip boards on our towels. We wrote beach stories and sorted beach words by their syllables.

At the end of the day for math the kids were partnered up and walked around the room to measure sea animals.

My Exhibition Video

Here is the video I made last round of exhibition to help you understand what I'm looking for in our presentations. Have fun practicing with your student over the next few days.
''

Here are some guidelines and tips for practicing. You can also find this information in your students folder tonight.

1.    The student will introduce himself or herself and thank any family member for coming.
a.   Ex. “My name is ….  and I want to thank my Mom and Dad for coming today.”
2.   The student will tell the class what their exhibition is about.
a.    My exhibition is about …..”
3.   The student will share the 5 facts he or she learned about their interest project.
a.   Ex. “This is what I learned about ….”
b.   Be sure they point to and explain any pictures on their board.
4.   When the presentation ends the student needs to thank their audience and ask for questions
a.   Ex. “Thank you for listening to my exhibition. I’m ready for questions.”
b.   The student will then be able to answer questions from peers and family in the audience.

Important Reminders:
o   Parents are not allowed to tell students what to say or make comments during the student’s presentation.
o   Practice TONS! It’s very obvious when a student has only practiced their exhibition the night before. Have your student give their exhibition for family, friends, or even pets before their big day.
o   Have fun practicing and let me know if you need any clarification ASAP!
